Kuchipudi is one of the eight major classical dances of India originating from the village of Kuchipudi in Andhra Pradesh. With a history spanning over 2,000 years, this graceful dance form combines rhythmic footwork, expressive storytelling, and intricate hand gestures (mudras) to depict mythological narratives and divine tales.
Our academy preserves this ancient art form through dedicated training in its distinctive elements: the Nritta (pure dance), Nritya (expressive dance), and Natya (dramatic elements). Students master the unique aspects of Kuchipudi, including dancing on a brass plate, the kalapam performances, and the tarangam where the dancer creates mesmerizing rhythmic patterns with the feet while balanced on the rim of a brass plate.
Discover Our LegacyAt our Kuchipudi academy, we believe in honoring the sacred traditions of this ancient art form while making it accessible to contemporary students. Our curriculum balances rigorous classical training with innovative teaching methods that resonate with dancers of all ages and backgrounds.
Each student's journey begins with mastering the fundamental postures (sthanaka), eye movements (drishya bhedas), and hand gestures (hastas) before progressing to complex choreographic sequences.
